Truck has 774k miles, I don't know the history. They said one slack adjuster looks new than the other. I only bobtail with this, I don't haul anything. The truck will attempt to swing out under hard braking. The Versajust slack adjuster is offered in arm lengths of 5, 51/2 and 6 inches, and worm gear splines to accommodate the standard 11/4' and 11/2' SAE 10C-, 24-, and 28-tooth splines. They didn't measure the stroke of the chambers either, I'm no mechanic but that would seem logical, if the chamber on one side is pushing out more then obviously more force is being applied. WARNING: Automatic slack adjusters should not be repeatedlyadjusted to correct excessive in service pushrod stroke, becausethis condition indicates that a problem exists with the automaticadjuster, with the installation of the adjuster or with relatedfoundation brake components which manual adjustment will notcorrect. How do they know the left rear slack adjuster isn't bad? I was going to replace them as a set, they recommended replacing just one. They said the right rear slack adjuster needs replacement, since the drums and shoes are practically new. Step 4: 4A: Place at least one inner cam washer on the shaft and then fit the Self Setting Automatic Slack Adjuster (S-ASA) on to the camshaft so that the adjustment hex points away from the air chamber. The right rear is still locking up easily, while it takes more effort for the left side to lock. Slack Adjuster Installation Instructions Step 3: Ensure that the camshaft splines are clean and apply anti-seize lubricant as needed. They re-adjusted both sides to even them out. I had the rear brakes adjusted by a mechanic, they said the right rear was over adjusted. During hard braking, the front left wheel and right rear wheel are locking easily. bushing 134b5812, manual slack adjuster - availability: normally stocked item 0.00 SLACK ADJUSTER 1332830, HALDEX STYLE, 28 SPL X 1.5 IN., C/L 5 IN., 6 IN.
